The European Technology Platform Photonics21 unites the majority of the leading photonics industries and relevant R&D stakeholders along the whole economic value chain throughout Europe. Today Photonics21 has more than 2500 members.
Photonics4All is a Horizon 2020 European Outreach project, funded by the European Commission to promote photonics to young people, entrepreneurs and the general public across the EU. Photonics4All will develop a set of new promotional tools and apply them during a wide variety of outreach activities with different audiences.
GoPhoton! is a European project by the European Centres for Outreach in Photonics (ECOP) and funded through the 7th framework programme of the European Commission. It aims to bring photonics closer to society and to inform the general public of the important nature of Photonics in our lives. The highlight of the project is the organization of many different activities concentrated in a “PhotonicSplash”. These PhotonicSplashes last several days and will happen across Europe travelling across participating cities.
LIGHT2015 is a European project funded through the European Union’s Horizon 2020 Programme of the European Commission. It aims to promote the importance of photonics to young people, entrepreneurs and the general public in all Member States of the EU during the International Year of Light and Light-based Technologies. LIGHT2015 activities include LIGHTtalks, a series of inspirational events, which will take place throughout the European Union in different cities in order to bring photonics closer to students and entrepreneurs.
ASPICE is a Coordination and Support Action project focusing on Photonic Clusters and Platforms activated in national level within the European area, targeting the need for ongoing stronger cooperation between them, towards the elaboration of efficient value chains for better meeting socio-economic challenges. ASPICE seeks to succeed in these goals by achieving specific objectives including the development of a reference guide of good practices, profiling of the value/supply chains in specific highly innovative domains, and supporting cooperation and collaboration between relevant stakeholders.
The LightJumps project stems from the need to overcome present difficulties such as networking efficiently; the inability and lack of ambition in extending targets and cooperation; absence of important actors in the value chain; Non-uniformity and fragmentation at the regional and national levels of clusters’ roles and activities.
ACTPHAST (Access CenTer for PHotonics innovAtion Solutions and Technology Support) is a unique “one-stop-shop” for supporting photonics innovation by European companies, which is financially supported by the European Commission under the FP7 framework (Grant Agreement No. 619205).
